The body of Nigeria's music star Mohbad has been exhumed in Lagos by the country's police force. This comes after so much controversy sorrounding his death as Nigerians and his fans demand justice. Some of these controversies include  the unclear cause of his death, hasty burial and tight coffin.

“Exhumation completed. Autopsy to commence,” Lagos state police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin tweeted.

The 27-year-old singer, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Aloba, died on Tuesday 12 September in a Lagos hospital and was burried the following day, September 13th in Ikorudo, Lagos state.

Since his passing away, accusing fingers have been pointed at a handful of persons, including his former record label Boss Naira Marley alongside his friend, Sam Larry. This is because videos proving the deceased's harassment and maltreatment in the hands of  his former record label boss surfaced on the internet. In one particular damning video made by the singer himself in the past, he said Nigerians should hold his former boss, Naira Marley, responsible if he ever died. Mohad also wrote a petition to the Nigerian police requesting protection for himself and his properties from Marlian Music, Sammy Larry and Marley himself. Meanwhile, Naira Marley has lost over 500.000 instagram followers due to these accusations. Up until now, the exact circumstances of his death have not been made public.

There have been rallies accross cities in Nigeria and an outpouring of grief as people call for answers. The hashtag #justiceformohbad has been trending on social media.
