Nigerian Singer Mohbad Dies At 27

The Nigerian entertainment industry and fans or Mohbad are in tears at the passing away of the artist, Tuesday September 12th 2023. According to a source from his team. Mohbad went to the hospital on Tuesday to treat an infection he got from injury. He was administered an injection, but according to the source, Mohbad passed out shortly after the injection was administered and unfortunately that was the end of the story.

The news of Mohbad's death sent shock waves across social media where colleagues and fans shared their sadness over the death of the singer, even as they wished the information could be termed alleged or maybe a prank or better still fake. Unfortunately the news of his death was confirmed after an official statement was released the singers official twitter page which read

"It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of Promise Oladimeji Aloba PK/A Mohbad (Imole) today, the 12th of September, 2023. Mohbad was a light until the very end, and as we mourn the loss of the brightness he carried, the family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time. Imole is finally at peace."

Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad aka Imole became popular in 2020 after the release of  his hit song Ko Po Ke . In 2019 the fast rising star was signed into Marlian Records headed by Naira Marley. Unfortunately, he faced issues concerning his royalties and exited the label in 2022. It is said that the problems he faced with the record label pushed him to attempt suicide in 2023, when he tried to jump from the balcony before he was rescued. His last EP was released in June 2023.
