Mohamed Salah,Named 3rd Times Footballer of the Year
Liverpool Forward Mohamed Salah was elected "Footballer of the Year" in England by the Soccer writers for the record-tying third time on Friday, while Arsenal Attacker Alessia Russo won the female title.
Salah received the Football Writers' Association's award in 2018 and 2022. Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is the only other player to have won it three times.
The FWA honour is the oldest individual soccer award in the world. It was first awarded in 1948.

Salah received 90% of the votes cast by over 900 members, according to the FWA, making it the "biggest winning margin this century". Virgil van Dijk was second and Alexander Isak of Newcastle came in third.
Salah leads the Premier League with 28 goals and 18 assists this season and he helped Liverpool win the crown for the second time in five years.

Russo finished ahead of Manchester City striker Khadija Shaw and Arsenal colleague Mariona Caldentey, according to FWA Chair John Cross, who credited the achievements of Russo in the Women's Champions League for her success.

Arsenal, who is second in the Women's Super League has advanced to the Champions League final after defeating eight-time Champion Lyon in the quarterfinals and will face Barcelona in the title match.
