Cameroonian-French Mixed Martial Artist and Professional Boxer Francis Ngannou will return to the Octagon on October 17, after not competing in MMA since January 2022.

He departed the UFC after successfully defending his heavyweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Ciryl Gane at UFC 270.

Ngannou moved to boxing for the big fights against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

He will fight the Brazilian Mixed Martial Artist Renan Ferreira who won the 2023 PFL heavyweight tournament and defeated the American Mixed and Martial Artist Ryan Bader via Technical KnockOut (TKC) earlier this year.
After the demise of his son, Ngannou told Sky Sports that he intended to use the tragedy as his main source of inspiration for the fight against Renan Ferreira.

Joshua used his right hands to easily defeat Ngannou in the first and second hands in March. Ferreira has fought eight times since the last MMA fight of Ngannou, most recently a 21-second triumph over long-time Ryan Bader in February.
