Erykah Badu Wins The Prestigious CFDA 2024 Fashion Icon Award

Erykah Badu and her decades of bright, mesmerising flair have finally earned the respected artist a long-awaited award.

Erykah Badu received the 2024 Fashion Icon Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

The award event, presented by Amazon Fashion and hosted by Actress Cynthia Ervio was held at the American Museum of National History in Manhattan.

André 3000 with whom Badu has a 26-year-old kid named Seven, introduced the "Window Seat" singer to win the prestigious prize, using a caution cone as a prop to represent the pleasantly lethal apparel of Badu.

Anna Wintour, Marc Jacobs, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and Molly Ringwald were also presenters at the event.

Teyana Taylor, LaLa, Winnie Harlow, Addison Rae, Kylie Jenner, Lucy Liu, Vera Wang, Katie Holmes, Blake Lively, Tyla, JT and Da'Vine Joy Randolph were among the prominent attendees.

According to AP, Badu joked that earning this coveted award has been a lifelong ambition, highlighting the distinctive take of the artist on fashion. She will appear in the upcoming film The Piano Lesson alongside Samuel L Jackson; she also contributed to the film's music composition.
