Chefs Who Have Attempted Or Broken The Longest Cookathon Record Since 2023

Ever since Nigerian chef Hilda Baci broke the Guinness World Records for the longest cookathon, every chef around the world wants to break that record. If that book was an exercise book, trust me it will not have any more space as at now. Everyone wants their name in the GWR cos it's been raining cookathons and other thons world-wide. These seven chefs and cooks have broken or at least attempted to break the longest cookathon record.

Chef Hilda Baci

Hilda Baci rose to fame  after she broke the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon (Cookathon). She cooked over 115 meals with an official time of 93 hours 11 minutes over a four day period in May, 2023 , at Amore Gardens, in Lagos , Nigeria. Since then, other people have also attempted it, and some have even already broken her record of 93 hours and 11 minutes, reason why she is now referred to as the former record holder.

Chef Alan Fisher

Ireland’s Alan Fisher was the first person to break Hilda Baci's record by cooking for 119 hours and 57 minutes in November 2023. He also broke the longest baking record by baking for 47 hours and 21 minutes; so he hold to records.

Chef Dammy

In June 2023, Damilola 'Chef Dammy' Adeparusi trended for her cookathon attempt. She cooked for 120 hours. Many people complained about how close it was to Hilda’s attempt and how there were many irregularities in her procedures, such as the live stream going off. Her attempt was never certified.

Chef Tope Maggi

In December 2023, an Oyo based chef, Adebayo Ayodeji Temitope, also known as Chef Tope Maggi attempted to break the Guinness World Record.Tope Maggie had set the 200-hour target to displace the current Guinness World Records (GWR) holder in cookathon, Alan Fisher. He started cooking on Thursday, November 9, 2023, in the ancient city of Ogbomoso in Oyo State and clocked the 200-hour target in the wee hours of Saturday, November 18, 2023.

Chef Failatu

A Ghanaian chef, Failatu Abdulrazak has surpassed them all by cooking for 227 hours. She began her record-breaking attempt on January 1, 2024 and the stopwatch hit the 227th hour on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. GWR responded to her on X as they said they look forward to reviewing her evidence.

Chef Maliha Mohammed

In November 2023, this Kenyan chef attempted to break the longest cookathon record, but she collapsed after cooking for over 100 hours.

Chef Deo

Another cook attempted, Adeyeye 'Chef Deo' Adeola to break the record again in July 2023 by cooking for 150 hours. Although she began cooking, it was never reported whether she completed the challenge.

Note should be taken that these are just a few selected chefs out of the many around the world who have attempted and are still attempting the break the Guinness World Records for the longest cooking hours.
