Aitana Bonmati Receives Is The World Sportswoman of the Year

Barceloniase Football Player Aitana Bonmati is widely recognised as one of the top female athletes in the world.

The outstanding Footballer was named World Sportswoman of the Year for 2023 at the 25th annual Laureus Awards ceremony.

This honour places her in the company of past champions like as Simone Biles, Serena Williams, Yerena Isinbayeva and Jennifer Capriati.

Her victory at the Ballon d'Or ceremony combined with her recognition as The Best by UEFA acts as a prelude to her most recent achievement, the Laureus Award.

Aitana Bonmati is the first Catalan woman to hold this renowned title, making it a historic achievement.

Her astounding achievement overshadowed the stiff challenge of renowned athletes such as skier Mikaela Shiffrin, tennis prodigy Iga Swiatek and track and field legends Faith Kipyegon, Shericka Jackson  and Sha'Carri Richardson.
