Argentina won their second Copa America title with a 1-0 victory over Colombia on Sunday night, despite the injury of  Lionel Messi in the second half. Lautaro Martinez scored the game-winning goal in the 112th minute.

Argentina won their 16th Copa title with the goal of Martinez and a hug from the captain, despite the  non-contact injury of Messi in the 64th minute.

This achievement puts Argentina on pace with Spain, which won the 2008 and 2012 European Championships in the run-up to the World Cup in 2010.

Argentina also ended Colombia's 28-game unbeaten streak, which dated back to a loss against the Albiceleste in February 2022.

Martinez, who came on in the 97th minute scored the winning goal from Giovani Lo Celso's precise pass, beating goalkeeper Camilo Vargas with a right-footed shot from inside the penalty area.

This goal marked the 29th international goal of Martinez and his fifth of the tournament.
